As the countdown to the official start of the 2009 season, the Australian Grand Prix at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, teams are gearing up for their final testing sessions that will kick off this coming weekend at the Jerez circuit in Southern Spain.
While reasonably happy with their recent session in Bahrain, Ferrari’s technical director, Aldo Costa revealed that there is still a lot of work to do before making the long trip down under and they will be running an updated aero configuration at the upcoming tests.
"There might be some problems ahead, like the ones we've had with the completely new components of the KERS, or with experiments, like the ones we had on the gearbox,” he told the team’s official website. "But as far as KERS is concerned I have to say that we're quite satisfied with what we've seen so far, although there's still a lot of work to do."
"We used a standard configuration for the aerodynamics in Bahrain, with just some minor updates. The complete one we'll see at the next tests in Jerez and Barcelona, where we will conclude our preparation for the Australian Grand Prix."
