For the second scheduled day of testing here at the Valencia circuit in Spain, it was a close battle between Renault and Honda with Renault eventually winning the duel by less than a tenth of a second. The French based squad’s official test driver, Heikki Kovalainen managed a whopping 126 laps to take the honours while Honda’s test driver, Anthony Davidson, completed just shy of 150.

Kimi Raikkonen was third overall for McLaren, the Finn three tenths further back with just 74 laps. Meanwhile, the teams test driver Pedro de la Rosa was fourth quickest ahead of the two Williams men, Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber, who were the only two drivers outside the 1:10 range, Webber the slowest overall , a little over a second behind Kovalainen’s pace.
