Eight drivers kicked the 2010 season off in style here at the Valencia circuit in Spain today as the first winter testing session of the year got underway in earnest.
Apart from a young driver test session, this is the first time the cars have been in action since the 2009 season ending Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi and for Ferrari driver Felipe Massa, who was fastest overall in the cars new F10, the day marked his official return after his horrendous accident in Hungary last year.
Pedro de la Rosa was second fastest in the newly launched BMW Sauber while Michael, who made his official return to the cockpit for Mercedes Grand Prix, was third fastest almost four tenths slower than his former Ferrari teammate.
Testing continues here tomorrow.
