Valencia: Day one – Williams quick, McLaren reliable

Testing resumed at the Valencia circuit in Spain today where three teams took to the track under cool but sunny conditions. At the end of the day, McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa put in the most mileage with a whopping 147 laps, but it was the Williams of Nico Rosberg sitting at the top of the leaderboard, two seconds faster than the McLaren.

Mark Webber made it two out of three for Williams with a third placed finish followed by the sole representative from Renault, test driver Heikki Kovalainen. Gary Paffett rounded out the times with the fifth best lap two seconds off Rosberg’s pace.
