After a stunning performance in last weekends Turkish Grand Prix where he topped the timesheets in Friday’s final free practice session, nineteen year old Sebastien Vettel looks set to continue in his role of third driver for the Hinwil based squad at next weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.
Testing for the team at this week’s Monza test in order to get some very important mileage under his belt, the young German received a lot of praise from team bosses, the ultimate being the faith another chance behind the wheel. He may have set that time on the smell of an oily rag, but the fact remains that he got the job done.
"He is confirmed for Monza. He did a very good job for us here and he will double his test mileage this week as well,” BMW’s Mario Theissen told Autosport. "After Monza we will make a decision again on a race by race basis."
There is one problem with Vettel however, and that is that he belongs to Red Bull and has to be given back in 2009. |
