Silly season is in full swing at the moment with former F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve adding to the rumours doing the rounds after he playfully joked with BBC commentator Martin Brundle on the grid of Sunday afternoon’s Monaco Grand Prix that he could be in Monte Carlo scouting a return drive to the sport after confirming that he is missing it to some degree now that the sport has returned to slick rubber.
"That's a tough question isn't it? With all the chaos happening now in F1, you never know."
Villeneuve is currently thirty eight years of age, not too old when you remember the ages of some of the earlier drivers in the sport and despite all his efforts, Villeneuve has not been able to secure a permanent drive in any other series, meaning that his fitness would be in question, even if he doesn’t think so....
"I haven't gone to TV yet, so, yeah I would be fit enough," he joked with Brundle.
