Despite constant rumours that Scuderia Toro Rosso will be parting company with American racer Scott Speed for the 2007 Formula one championship season in favour of the third driver from their sister team, Red Bull, Robert Doornbos, may be somewhat wide of the mark with Speed confirming that he has a solid contract for the new season.
“We have a contract for next year,” he confirmed. “It is great that I have this opportunity next year with Red Bull because they have been really supportive the whole time.”
Speed worked hard and long to make it into the pinnacle of Motorsports after taking part in the Red Bull junior program in America and while Red Bull may be eager top keep the services of Doornbos who brings some healthy sponsorship and delivers some fine performances, Speed has proven that he is the best American contender, something Red Bull is eager to exploit. |
