For his third season with the Red Bull Racing team, veteran F1 racer David Coulthard was hoping for a strong year, especially after his challenger for 2007 was designed by long term friend, Adrian Newey. However, after several pre season tests, the Scot admitted to the sports official website that his goals may not be realized after all.
“At the moment we're not going to achieve the goals I had for the year. But we've got some more time to develop and hopefully, once we've done that, we can try and achieve them."
The new season will get underway in just over two weeks time, and apart from this week’s Bahrain test, there is talk that the Milton Keynes based squad may conduct one more session, just to try and come to grips with their current problems….
"The current things we are working on are the gearbox, overall reliability and basically building our relationship with Renault and learning about its electronic systems. The package is not yet optimised so we've got a lot of work to do to get the performance we want." |
