Mark Webber’s time with the BMW Williams F1 team has yet to begin however the Australian driver is already targeting victory in his debut race with the Grove based squad, the 2005 season opener, his home race at the Albert park circuit in Australia.
Speaking after the 2004 season finale in Brazil, Mark told the Herald Sun that even though he was disappointed with the ay his last race for Jaguar Racing ended, he was pleased that Juan Pablo Montoya won the race. It was Williams first win of the season and according to Webber, it was the perfect way to head into winter testing for the new year.
"Williams have won which is fantastic," Webber said."I couldn't ask for a better start to the winter. Juan's result is a great result for the team and the team's morale over the winter and for me too. But there is a long winter ahead. Melbourne will come around very quickly but we have got a lot of work to do. I can't go to Melbourne with any other ambition but to win. Williams is about winning. Coming second helps for the championship, but wins are bloody important and we have to be winning from the start.”
