Even though Niki Lauda fully believes that Michael Schumacher will not make a return to active competition with the Mercedes Grand Prix team next season, along with the majority of F1 insiders and those closest to the German legend, the seven time champion is now refusing to take himself out of the equation, flaming the fire even higher that he will indeed by racing next year.
Speaking at his former teammates’ karting event in Brazil on the weekend, an event he won ahead of Felipe Massa, Michael revealed that he was fully healed from an injury sustained during a motorbike accident earlier in the year, an injury that forced him to cancel a planned comeback with Ferrari earlier this season.
Whether or not Michael is just toying with the media, who have turned this whiff of a rumour, created simply because Schumacher was seen talking to Norbert Haug in Abu Dhabi, is still to be seen, as a simple no when asked if he would be racing in F1 next season would have brought the matter to an abrupt standstill, but a ‘who knows’ continues to leave the door open for more reports from certain areas of the media that he is definitely in alongside Rosberg.
Although we cannot tell you about Michael’s moves in 2010 for certain one way or the other, as stranger things have been known to happen and this is Formula One after all, our sources have indicated to us that Michael is staying in his current role at Ferrari for some time to come yet. |
